Big things under the 'Big Top' in Jamaica
The world-famous Suarez Brothers Circus is coming to Jamaica in July.
The Mexican family circus has been thrilling audiences around the world for more than 100 years. But Jamaica has a special place in the heart of the people who run the travelling family funfest.
"All we remember about the last time we came to this beautiful island - 10 years ago - are the smiling faces of the people. We always give them a fantastic show and they always give us smiles and laughter", said circus director, Raul Suarez, from the circus' base camp in Brazil, where it is currently touring.
For the first time, the circus will bring Polar Bears to the island. These animals are indigenous to the polar ice caps, so they are a rare sight in tropical countries. The circus has its own zoo with lions, tigers, zebras, elephants, giraffes and camels and these will be accessible to youngsters in the daytime.
The Suarez Brother's circus is expected to be in the island until the end of August during which it will tour the island. The tour will start in Kingston, before moving to May Pen, Ocho Rios, Trelawny and Savanna-la-Mar. The finale will be in Portmore.
