Wadadah, Catherine Hall in final

WESTERN BUREAU -

WADADAH and Catherine Hall FC will contest today's final of the first Kajumulo St. James FA Super League at Jarrett Park after wins in Friday's semi-finals at the same venue.

Wadadah edged arch rivals Seba United 5-4 on penalty kicks after the teams had played to a 2-2 draw after regulation and sudden death extra-time while in the first game of the doubleheader, Catherine Hall upset Violet Kickers 2-1.

In the feature game, Seba wasted a brilliant effort from goalkeeper Garfield Johnson as Wadadah came back from a goal down to go 2-1 up before Seba equalised as both teams battled in a competitive game.

Seba looked well on their way to repeating a 5-1 thrashing of Wadadah earlier in the a season when Omar Brown scored after a spectacular solo effort in the sixth minute.

Brown danced his way past two Wadadah defenders before slotting past Alrick Henry into the far corner.

Wadadah drew level in the 32nd minute after Franklyn Allen handled the ball inside his penalty area and Mark Williams converted from the spot.

Markino Gillings put Wadadah ahead seven minutes into the second half but Brown came back a minute later to score his second and pull his team level.

Despite playing a man short after Brian Hill was sent off in the first period of sudden death, Seba held the upper hand through a series of outstanding saves from Johnson who was the third string for most of the season.

It was the more experienced Henry who made the difference however after saving Horatio Brown's effort while Wadadah scored all five of their kicks.

In the first game, Marlon Excell scored once in each half for Catherine Hall as they advanced to their second final this season. Excell scored in the 32nd and the 70th while substitute David Myrie pulled one back for Kickers in the 73rd.
