Dr. Garnett Brown gets Master of Divinity degree

Dr, Garnett Brown

DR. GARNETT BROWN, C.D., J.P., chairman of the National Irrigation Com-mission Ltd., was awarded the degree of Master of Divinity (M.Div.), with honours, on June 23, 2000, at the graduation exercise of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology. He also was recently honoured by the prestigious Yale University, which bestowed upon him the coveted Distinguished Alumnus Award.

Dr. Brown previously received the Master of Arts (MA) in Caribbean Ministries with honours, from the same institution. He is currently a pastor of the Church of God in Jamaica, having done his internship in that denomination some three years ago, under the tutelage of the well-known Rev. Dr. Cleve Grant, C.D.

Mr. Brown has been a veteran public servant for over forty years, having served in various scientific, managerial and leadership capacities, including the development of numerous public sector entities. He has also served internationally in academic and advisory capacities.

His academic credentials include B.Sc. (New Brunswick); M.Sc. (Yale); M.A., M.Div. (Caribbean Graduate School of Theology); Ph.D (Oxford), plus Post-doctoral Studies. Dr. Brown's scholarship was recognised at the ceremony by the President of the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology. He is now focusing on his church ministry.
