Gun culture quandary

THE EDITOR, Madam:

HERE WE are on Page 1 of your August 18 edition lamenting the government's lack of will in fighting crime. Here we are again in the Page 4 cartoon, unable to find any other way of enforcing Onandi Lowe's frequency, accuracy and power in scoring goals than by an M-16 rifle.

Truly, the gun culture is being embraced both implicitly and explicitly, and the quandary as to how to respond is clearly not the preserve of government alone.
