Children and Community for Change

THE EDITOR, Madam:

IN TODAY'S society when breakdown in discipline is the order of the day, it is heartening to know that there are organisations which are working tirelessly to solve this problem and ensure that the young impressionable minds over which we have control continue to be channelled in the right direction.

One such distinct organisation is "Children and Community for Change", an organisation which is based in Mandela Terrace. This organisation seeks to help the children within this community and its environs to believe in themselves and to think and be positive at all times.

At the head of this organisation is Cebert Hines, who has been working tirelessly with his team to make sure that the objectives of this organisation are carried out efficiently and effectively. The contribution he has made along with his team to the community which he serves is immeasurable. All those who have had some relationship with him can attest to the fact that he has served the community with distinction. "The best kind of pride is that which compels a man to do his best work even when no one is looking".

This organisation has played an important role in nurturing young Jamaican minds, while instilling the values of discipline, hard work and the importance of giving something back to the community and the country.

I wish to challenge and implore the children who have benefited and at present are benefiting from this organisation to be ambassadors of peace. I hasten to encourage you all to lead by example with the hope that Jamaica will be considered a peaceful place to live.

You must uplift the wider society by making a positive impact on those with whom you interact. You possess great potential and I commend you all for your perseverance and dedication to work.

I am, etc.,
