Economic growth reduces crime

THE EDITOR, Madam:

THE REPEATED attempts to control crime through tried and failed solutions repackaged with new names, will only lead to similar results.

Fighting crime with Government-approved crimes will only add fuel to the flame. The Jamaican society is already in a volatile situation and these solutions only promise to continue the cycle at the expense of additional innocent lives.

The one proven solution for decreasing crime has been economic prosperity for the masses through a growing economy. Unfortunately, this too has been another failed target by Jamaican leaders for our people. When will the cycle end? Only when we truly find a leader that really does put its people first.
