Accepting the National ID

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I WOULD like the Hon. Minister of Transport to tell us senior citizens why some bus conductresses try to reject the National ID which, according to the Government, is a means of identification that is recognised throughout Jamaica. Some of us are having a hard time trying to persuade them to accept this legal means of identification.

I would also like the Hon. Minister to see to it that all buses show their destinations along with the route numbers. At present, most of them show the route number only which makes it very difficult for the unseasoned travelling public to know where the bus is going to.

I think that once these two problems are solved, we will be on our way to again having a good public transport system in this city.

I am, etc.,
