'Hurricane Lovers' opens soon

Kathy Owen (left), is seen with Charles Hyatt (centre) and Glen Campbell, in a scene from 'Hurricane Lovers'.

JAMAICA'S KING of comedy, Charles Hyatt will headline an impressive line-up of artistes, when Patrick Brown's hilarious romantic comedy Hurricane Lovers hits the stage, Friday September 29, at Centerstage Theatre, New Kingston.

Hyatt will appear alongside Glen "Titus" Campbell (1999 Best Supporting Actor) and Kathy Owen (fresh from her triumph in "Children-Children") in Hurricane Lovers, currently in rehearsals for its September 29 opening.

The plot features a loving couple - Hilda Charm (Kathy Owen) and John Charm (Glen Campbell) arrives at the Pleasure Beach Hotel, with no suspicion of the deep dark secrets about to be exposed. As skeletons start to emerge from their closets, the shabby Honeymoon Suite soon becomes a war-zone and with a hurricane closing in, the newly-weds find themselves embroiled in the honeymoon from hell! Caught in this storm of emotions is poor Marley (Charles Hyatt), the hotel's maintenance man, who finds himself having to act as referee, marriage counsellor and even an unsuspecting participant in a love-triangle! Alternating in the role of Marley will be Carl Davis.

Hurricane Lovers will be directed by Trevor Nairne.
