Bring Selassie here

THE EDITOR, Madam:

THIS IS an open letter to Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paul Robertson.

Dear Minister:

My name is Reginald (Reg) Trelford. I am the chairman of Royal Foundation Trust and represent HIH Ermias Sahle Selassie Haile Selassie, chairman of the Crown Council of Ethiopia and the next king of Ethiopia.

It should be clear by now that it is utter madness and suicide to continue to swear allegiance to the white queen and her heirs and successors. The recent non-delivery of crucial police weaponry displays the level of contempt "Great Britain" has for the Jamaican people.

The three billion pounds of aid that they sent with Baroness Scotland is a drop in the bucket to the trillions of pounds in reparations money that the Government of England, the British Royal Family and private companies (Sheffields, Lloyds of London, Barclays Bank, etc.) owe to every man, woman and child in Jamaica whose ancestors endured the brutality and inhumanity of the economic slavery forced on us by the white man and his black lackeys.

On behalf of our ancestors I am begging you with arms outstretched and my face to the ground to invite HIH Ermias to Jamaica on an official visit to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the coronation of HIM Haile Selassie I on November 2, 2000.

I am, etc.,

REGINALD TRELFORD
