St Mary politics

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I WOULD like to talk about the parish of St Mary and party politics. This is a good example of a people blindly following one generation after another and selling their birthright to a party.

I used to live in St Mary and know firsthand this mentality. All it takes is the PNP to roll into town around election time, kill a few goats and cook some food, shoot the breeze and just have a good time.

Once this is done the spell is cast and the vote is in the bag. For years St Mary has had the worst roads in Jamaica. The entire parish has been ignored just because the MP knows that the vote is in the bag. But it's the people's fault.

I am etc.,
