More positive attitude needed

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I READ John A. Williams' letter with great dismay. Even he must acknowledge that his quality of life is in the end contingent on how much suffering the have-nots can endure. By turning his back on the social problems, he is obliged to live in fear of, or in anger at, those less fortunate than he.

A more positive interactive role and attitude on his part, may one day save his life or that of his loved ones.

I am etc.,
