Good customer service?

THE EDITOR, Madam:

THE BEST way to do our part in the improvement of our country is to start somewhere. Well let's get down to business. How would you like it if you called a business place for some information on servicing a well-needed equipment, and in the background you hear people, whether employees or the proprietor badmouthing you, the customer? Would you recommend them to other prospective clients?

That was the case with this industrial equipment office. The remarks overheard via phone implied that if I am so broke to ask for an estimate of service then I should take my equipment elsewhere. It is so disheartening to hear people who travel or live overseas complain about customer services in our own country. I hope and pray fervently that all hope is not lost for the future of our home, Jamaica.

I am, etc.,
