WESTERN BUREAU -
DUHANEY Park scored twice in a minute in the second half at Jarrett Park yesterday to hand A League leaders Violet Kickers their second straight defeat.
Jomo Gordon in the 78th and Dwight Gordon in the 79th took the Kingston team to their third win but Kickers maintained their slim lead in the league despite going down to their second loss in four days.
Garth Palmer had given the Montego Bay team the lead in the 17th minute but a red card to central defender Omar Kerr, his second of the season, forced a change in the plans of Kickers coach Dr Dean Weatherly.
Kickers could have snared a draw but a superb free kick from Fitzroy Reid curled around the wall, past goalkeeper Omar Williams but crashed off the crossbar.
The win moved Duhaney Park to third place in the league with 10 points, two behind Violet Kickers and one behind second placed Village who played to a 0-0 draw with Galaxy at Elleston Wakeland Youth Centre in Falmouth.
Brazil and Central Link are on nine points following wins yesterday. Brazil thrashed the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) 3-0 at Drax Hall while Central Link were 1-0 winners over Rockfort at Renock Lodge.
Black Stars were also winners, edging Rivoli 1-0 at Prison Oval, to improve to eight points while Maverley moved clear of the JDF and the idle Mile Gully with a surprise 3-1 win over St. George's United.
