Hue HARBOUR VIEW gave a good display of their talent and mood on the first day of their Group Two CONCACAF Club Championships on Sunday and today could be no different.
Paradise FC who walk into their path at 8 o'clock this evening, were on hand to witness the coolness they displayed in dispatching the skillful Haitians. Following his team's win over Roots Alley Ballers coach Kenville Layne said: "I plan to watch Harbour View and then organise from there."
He saw a lot and will have a lot of organising to do. His first task would be to keep Harbour View's 'general', Jermaine Hue and his sidekick Robert Scarlett quiet. To do so big Jonathan Straker will have to work overtime organising his fellow defenders.
While Harbour View have shown in the past a weakness when Hue is locked down the very disciplined and hard-running Paradise FC do not appear to have the quality to do. They could also pay too much attention to Hue leaving large holes in their defence for the likes of Daniel Shaw and Fabian Taylor to exploit.
The cautious Cargill, ever respectful of his opponents credited Paradise FC and Roots Alley Ballers for what he saw as a good game. "I saw a part of the first game and it was a quality game. Both teams played very well and the end of the day to me the Barbados (Paradise FC) team seemed more organised."
He said he was expecting a tough game from them. "I am expecting a tough game. They looked pretty organised in defence."
But while being respectful he still believed that the advantage was with his team. "But we are okay. We have the advantage being at home. In the first 20 minutes we want to apply as much pressure as possible then take the game from there."
Paradise FC while looking efficient against Roots Alley Ballers will have to step up their game a few levels especially in attack to trouble the Harbour View defence which is a quality one. Attackers Dwayne Gale and Leszron Defreitas missed a number of chances and will definitely not get that kind of room against Harbour View.
The feature game is the one Jamaicans and in particular Harbour View supporters would want to see but the opening game is of great importance to both teams as neither would want to be at the bottom of the table at the end of two rounds.
Emmanuel Belasse of Roots Alley Ballers felt that in their first game they finished poorly. An improvement on that is necessary if they are to be a factor today. "We have realised the weaknessses and we have got to get stronger with our goalsscoring opportunities." With that Belasse was spot on as his forwards appeared to be a naive bunch trying to dribble the ball into the back of the net.
Conrad Dantes had one good shot from distance which appeared to be out of character as he never repeated it. Emerson Jn Marie was no better. In the leftsided player Sheldon Emmanuel they have a gifted player. If they decide to make use of the chances he creates with his surging runs, then they could be competitive.
Violette FC while they were outclassed by Harbour View looked a team of better quality than both Paradise FC and Roots Alley Ballers. Defensively they appear to be a bit disorganised but if they could get this in order by this evening and somehow manage to run for 90 minutes then they could earn their first points of the competition.
Emmanuel Georges, coach of Violette knows what it will take for his team to win. "I looked at the other teams and they are very good but as you know it is a matter of physical condition."
