Manning teams seek crucial points

FOUR winless teams seek crucial points at Ferdie Park Park as the second round of the Manning Cup football competition continues today.

Denham Town who were held to a 1-1 draw by Kingston College on Saturday oppose Wolmer's in the first game of a double header.

Both teams will be seeking three points to stay alive in the competition. Wolmer's are the more desperate. Goals by Troyland Williams and Shawn Bramwell on Friday sank Wolmer's as St. Anne's won 2-0. That game saw Wolmer's ace player Jonathan Gustard getting marching orders from referee Martin Lyn.

Gustard will miss today's crucial encounter and the efforts of Akeem Priestly and Andre Campbell should therefore determine Wolmer's fortune in the game and ultimately in the competition.

The second game, a group one affair, is also expected to intriguing as both Norman Manley and Donald Quarrie played to stalemates in their opening second round encounters and will be going all out to record a victory.

TODAY'S GAMES

1.30: Denham Town vs Wolmer's - Ferdie Neita

3.30: Norman Manley vs Donald Quarrie - Ferdie Neita

3.30: Trench Town vs Tivoli - Cement Company
