Gums that bleed
RED, SWOLLEN gums that have pulled away from your teeth and bleed when you brush your teeth may be an indication of a gum disease. For healthy gums and teeth, dentists advise that you brush your teeth twice daily with a toothbrush that is in good condition and soft-bristled. Brushing removes films of bacteria from the teeth and strengthens the teeth and prevents decay. Use toothpastes and mouth rinses with fluoride. Dentists also advise that you clean between your teeth using floss or other interdental cleaners that will remove food particles and bacteria. Your eating habit will also impact the health of your teeth; have balanced meals and limit snacking in-between meals. Regular professional cleaning by a dentist is also recommended to prevent periodontal disease.
