Today is 'Bee' Day

THE CHILDREN'S Own Spelling Bee competition kicks off this morning with its first 'spell off' in May Pen, Clarendon, with 25 schools participating.

It will be a ding-dong battle as 50 students vie for the position of parish champion. This afternoon, it will be no less, as the children from 12 schools in Kingston, will prove their mettle. They will showcase how well they have been trained and how determined they are to win the championship.

Tomorrow, the 64 energetic participants from St. Catherine will happily spell their words until a winner emerges. Then St. Andrew's 56 will have their fun on Friday.

All other parishes will have their competitions on the days scheduled during next week, that is, November 13 to 17. Each of these promises to be a wonderful fun-filled experience.

Best wishes to all participants for a good competition and please give your full support to your parish champion. Remember, your parish champion could become the national champion!
