Broilers edge Air Jamaica for top honours

JAMAICA Broilers held on by a stroke to clinch the 2000 Capital and Credit Corporate Golf Championship at the Caymanas Golf and Country at the weekend.

The team of David Mair, Richard Delisser, Robert Levy and Chris Warskow finished with a combined nett score of 20-under 124 to pip Air Jamaica's Heman Lee, Larry Lodenquai, Pat MooYoung and Donald Chong.

Air Jamaica, Carnaud metalBox, Bailey, Graham and Todd and Pan American Investment Trust all finished with nett 125s but Air J. scored better on the final nine holes.

Broilers' morning combination of Mair and Delisser got the team off to a flying start with eight nett birdies, an eagle and only one bogey on their way to an nine-under 63. Levy and Warskow completed the victory with nine birdies and two eagles for a superb 11-under 61.

Broilers and Air J. will now go on to represent Jamaica at the Caribbean Corporate Golf Championships from November 14-18 at the Breezes' SuperClubs course in Runaway Bay.

Teams from six countries will take part in the Caribbean showdown.
