In praise of farmers

THE EDITOR, Madam:

FARMING IS nature and labour combined. Walking the city markets seeing the outlays of such wide variety of products from the soil ­ all stemming from the honest hard-working hands of farmers ­ a transaction which builds employment for common labourers, truck operators, tractors, handcart trading and market vendors.

As a body of people deserving credit I salute our farmers.

Having shared the experience of tilling the soil in my childhood days, I can say the activity of farming is adventurous, healthy and peaceful.
