THE EDITOR, Madam: IT IS amazing that whenever anything is to be done for poor people it attracts very negative comment from the mass media. The most recent example is the headline 'Spending Spree'.

THE EDITOR, Madam: WHAT IF anything is wrong with the following ­ condemned murderers sentenced to be executed are not being hanged, yet persons not convicted of any crime attracting the death penalty are reportedly being killed by the police.
