THERE'S NO doubt that the influx of young entertainers have put a more interesting spin on the Jamaican music industry. The Kingston based Phenomenal Crew is an example. The members are 19-year-old Howard Dalrymple (Wolfman), 30-year-old Namar Allwood (Junior Ashman), 21-year-old Sheldon Moulton (Daneeko) and the only singer in the crew 22-year-old Jermaine Pasly (Presly Ice).

Wolfman and Daneeko both attended Holy Trinity Comprehensive High School, Junior Ashman went to Kingston College (KC) and Presley Ice to St. Catherine High School.

"We have a base, a Barbershop in Kingston, that we name after the Crew," Wolfman said, "It's called the Phenomenal Barbershop and that's where we link up and spar to write our songs."

So far they have performed at various stage shows all over Jamaica.

"We have three songs, Look up at the bus stop, Weed Weed and See dem a penny we, which have all already played on the air and which are on the TMI All-star CDs" he added, "This CD is available in record stores islandwide and has contributions from other DJs like Louie Culture, Black Rat, Max Wayne, Libra, Singing Rice, Eistine, and Turner Saw. Our producer is working on the 45 for us."

The Crew have also done dub plates for local sounds Caracas and Bone Dice.

And in the next couple of years the crew plans to take their music to the international spotlight, following greats like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Jacob Miller.
