Ferguson
'Another Level' for Kevin Ferguson Rising dancehall artiste 'Fergie Dads', christened Kevin Ferguson, is gaining a measure of notoriety on the north coast through the airing of the local cable television programmed dubbed 'Another Level' which was filmed at the Hedonism III hotel earlier this year. "On the programme, I did this single called I Nah Mine and Nah Wine and since then, a lot of promoters have expressed an interest in me," said 'Fergie Dads'. Raising eyebrowsCoco Tea's latest single, Who's Going to Step into the White House, a sly commentary of the current U.S. political crisis facing the world's greatest democracy, is raising a lot of eyebrows. "It has got a lot of airplay from GT Taylor and Richie B, the feedback has been wonderful. It is asking who is the winner of the election, is it the Democrats or Republicans? There's a whole heap of mix-up and wrong bong, whole heap a law suit and civil action, leaving the USA in disarray. Mi tell yu, it bad. Who is going to step in the White House, that's what the world wants to know," Cocoa Tea said. Palais Royale record labelLester Rhooms has made quite a success of the night-club business as the head of the popular Palais Royale on Ripon Road in Kingston. He wasn't interested in the recording industry, until a few months ago when two young men from Arnett Gardens, calling themselves Glamarus and Richie Wonder, barged into his office and urged him to listen to them doing some Backstreet Boys' songs. Rhooms was so impressed, he decided to record a single with them. Since then he has formed a label, Palais Royale Productions, with them as the only acts signed on and they have recorded a whole CD and released three singles. Wonder (Patrick Grant) and Glamarus (Edward Higgins) met six years ago in Wilton Gardens (Rema) and had been making quite an impression within the confines of the inner-city community since, without being able to do much outside. Their three singles are a cover of It's The Same Song; Shania Twain's From This Moment and an original Signs Of The Times, which have been doing well on radio. The Palais Royale label is distributed by Sonic Sounds.
