Who's the real hero?

THE EDITOR, Madam: Perhaps the highest and most coveted award that the majority of Jamaicans would desire for their leaders is that of National Hero.

Varieties of patois
THE EDITOR, Madam: I am highly intrigued by the various learned discourses on Jamaican patois, especially those emanating from the University of the West Indies (UWI).

No need for concern
THE EDITOR, Madam: I fail to understand the purpose of Professor Rex Nettleford's letter entitled: "Playing of 'God Save The Queen' not a decision of UWI" (The Gleaner, 14th November).

Stop the noise!
THE EDITOR, Madam: Here in our community of Friendship in Islington, the loud and sometimes profane music is almost an everyday occurrence.
