DOUBLE UP: Paulette and Joycelin Palmer. - Ian AllenPROBABLY the only thing that 43-year-old twin sisters Joycelin and Paulette Palmer do not share is a husband.
The sisters from Wakefield, Trelawny, have almost everything in common from their looks to the same number of children. And, from all indications it may stay that way for a very long time.
"We love each other we are kind to each other, we share everything, we even used to wear one another clothing and dress alike," Paulette said. "We share all pain because when we were young and one got beating the other would feel it."
She explains that the pain sharing still continues as just recently she was at home and felt a sharp pain in her knee. Later that same day she was speaking to her sister who told her she was also feeling a sharp pain in her knee. The sisters live about half-a-mile from each other but this does not in anyway keep them from staying in touch. They visit each other whenever they have the chance and if not, they make good use of the telephone.
Paulette who is married and is more affectionately known as Polly, celebrates her first wedding anniversary next April. She has four children, two girls and two boys.
Joycelin whose nickname is Joy, is not yet married, but also has two girls and two boys. Polly's eldest child is 24 and the youngest is three, while Joy's eldest is 23 and the youngest seven.
Polly who was born approximately 10 minutes before her sister, is a bit bigger than her sister.
The two were born in Deeside, Trelawny and first attended the Unity Primary School in that community and then went on to Muschette Comprehensive High.
After leaving school they lived in Wakefield, doing odd jobs. They have two brothers and four sisters.
"I love her way," Joy said of her sister. "If she have anything she don't hide it from me and if I have anything I never hide it from her. We can talk and reason about any and everything."
