Officers Reid and Brown

THE EDITOR, Madam:

PLEASE ALLOW me to use your medium to express my appreciation to two police officers who assisted my family and I.

On Monday, December 18, 2000 whilst on our way from the Norman Manley International Airport our car developed mechanical problems, the two officers Reid and Brown of the Highway Patrol stopped and offered their kind assistance and support and stayed with us until the problem was sorted out.

Their presence made us feel a greater sense of security and I am happy to see that at a time when there is a lot of negative criticism about the police force I am pleased to say that I had a very positive experience from the two officers who demonstrated the motto of the police force which says we serve, protect and reassure.

Once again, thanks to the two officers and keep up the good work.

I am, etc.,
