Don't lose hope in WI team

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I HAVE been watching the current cricket series between our Australian team and your team from the West Indies.

I know that there must be disappointment back home in the results so far. However please don't lose hope in your team.

To put the series into perspective, the Aussie team is running red hot at the moment and they have a great deal of confidence in their game. Also the series is being played on our home soil and we are all still on a high after the successful Olympic Games in Sydney. So your guys are really up against a stack of odds.

There have been some really good and exciting moments in all Test matches from your players and many believe that it will not be very long until results start to come in your favour. Aussies love to watch your team play, and aside from our national team, the Windies are probably the most popular team with us all.

I remember that it was not all that long ago when your team was really giving us a lesson in the game of cricket and sportsmanship. Have confidence in your players, administration and officials, wins are just around the corner.

I am etc.,

NEIL WALLACE
