Birth certificate needed urgently

THE EDITOR, Madam:

ON DECEMBER 7, 2000 I made an application at the Registrar General's Department, through the Super Express Service (Same day service) for four copies of my daughter's birth certificate. However, I did not wait, as I had only a few hours off from work. I returned the next day, December 8, 2000, and was told that my daughter's file could not be found, so I should re-apply using the Can't Wait Service (10 days service). I did this on December 4, 2000.

On December 18, 2000 (10 days later) I called to find out if my application was ready. I was told again, that the file could not be found and that they sent it to the Armoury for a further search.

To date, January 11, 2001, my application is still at the Armoury, as the file is still not yet found.

My daughter was born on January 16, 2000. Her entry number on the application is K12.

I am writing to this column so that if some Good Samaritan at the Registrar General's Department will see it and help me to get my daughter's birth certificate as soon as possible, as I needed it like last year.

I am etc.,

JACQUELINE WRIGHT
