Campbell for Jackson Relays

DOUBLE World Junior 100 and 200 metres champion Veronica Campbell will highlight the Howard Jackson Relays scheduled for Lyssons, St. Thomas, on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m.

Main event on the Sports Plus-sponsored meet will be the distance medley for high schools boys and girls with the winning teams presented with round trip tickets to the annual Penn Relays in the United States of America.

There will be eight championship events for high schools boys and girls - class one boys and girls 4x300 metres, class one boys and girls 4x150 metres, class two boys and girls 4x300 metres, and class three boys and girls 4x150 metres.

According to meet organiser Glen Mills, over 35 teams have entered the meet, including all the top school teams, and apart from Campbell of Vere Technical and Nadine Palmer of Holmwood, so too have all the top high schools boys and girls.

Vere Technical, St. Jago with Melanie Walker, Holmwood, Queens and Immaculate are the favourites to walk with the honours in the girls section while in the boys section the favourites are Jamaica College, Kingston College, Calabar, St. Jago, Vere and Holmwood.
