JVA names training squad

THE Jamaica Volleyball Association has named 24 men and 19 women in preparation for the World Championships qualifying matches scheduled for Aruba starting on June 13.

If the men's team qualify in Aruba, it will then move on to the next round in either Canada or Cuba, and if the women's team qualify it will move on to the Dominican Republic.

Men's squad: Brian Williams, Namarie Gordon, Wayne Scott - G.C. Foster; Delano Wishart, Gatashu Bonner, Ricardo Martin - JDF; Colin Henry, Eugene Sutherland, Michael Carnegie, Ricardo Wray - overseas; Neil Williams - St. Jago; Enrique Williams, Andrew Royes, Dean Robinson, Mark Lewis, Phillip Beach - UWI; Andre McLean, Daymian Bigby, Donovan Buckle, Kenneth Reid, Ortnel Findlay, Paul Edwards, Ricardo Chong, Steve Reid - Venus.

Women's squad: Dione Coley - G. C. Foster; Patricia Jackson - Monymusk; Tanya Distant - MOSA; Abiola Pereira, Georgette Crawford, Maxine Dunn, Tracyanne Pryce - overseas; Cheryl Robinson, Jayan Thomas, Nicola Manning - Rockettes; Shanique Green, Cheryl Daley, Lisa Greenwood, Michelle Greenwood, Shani Gunning, Stephanie Clayto-Day - UWI; Kim Carraha, Ptamony Fletcher, Venessa Woods - Venus.
