A pleasant evening at Duncans Tabernacle

Jassette Bryan sings 'He Is Here Alleluia' at the 'Christmas More Than A Story' concert presented by the Havenhill Baptist Church of Kingston. - Contributed

FALMOUTH, Trelawny:

PERSONS WHO attended a concert presented by the senior choir of the Havenhill Baptist Church, at Duncans Tabernacle Church, in Trelawny, were treated to an excellent evening of music.

According to a member of the gathering: "It was good to hear some good old time choir harmonising, reminiscent of the Sunday afternoon concerts of the past."

The concert began 50 minutes later than the scheduled 7:00 p.m. starting time, with a malfunctioning sound system, but these problems were soon forgotten by the audience when the first rendition began.

The concert was primarily a Christmas production under the theme 'Christmas More Than A Story', created by Tom Hartley and Dave Williamson under the direction of Lenox Deans, choir master. According to Mr. Deans, the message of Christmas to the Christian was an all-year round one and was, therefore, relevant in January.

During the altar call by Paul Brown, a number of persons passing by the church stopped to listen to the presentation and came in.
