Hilton Hotel salutes Bob Marley

THE HILTON Kingston Hotel will on Wednesday, February 7, commemorate the birth of Bob Marley with a 'Bob Marley Night', featuring a karaoke competition, fashion showcase and an ital food festival. In addition, a special presentation will be made to a member of the Marley family by the hotel in recognition of his contribution to reggae music worldwide.

The karaoke show will attract a grand prize of a trip to London, which will go to the best singer of any Bob Marley song that night. The competition began last Friday, at 7:30 p.m. during karaoke at the poolside. The top four contestants from each qualifying round will make it to the finals on Wednesday, February 7.

The fashion show will feature the latest in clothing from the 'Catch-a-Fire' line designed by Bob's daughter, Cedella Marley. The new Tuff Gong clothing line is inspired by Marley music and was launched recently.

Patrons will be encouraged to sport 'dread' gear on the night and participate in a Bob Marley look-alike contest. There will be an ital menu, offering fish and vegetables, among other exciting dishes on sale.
