JTA presents gifts to Red Cross

PORT ANTONIO, Portland:

THE JAMAICA Teachers' Association (JTA) District Branch presented items of clothing and food to the Portland Branch of the Jamaica Red Cross Society at the Drapers All-Age School last Thursday.

Street people in the resort town will benefit from the donation and it comes in the wake of an outreach programme put on annually by the JTA.

Chairperson Mrs. Ivy Barnett, along with Mrs. Perleita Thomas, co-ordinator, accepted the gifts on behalf of the Portland Red Cross. President-elect of the JTA, Mrs. Ivy McKenzie made the presentation to the civic group on behalf of the district branch.

The JTA district branch consists of 12 schools from primary to secondary and includes the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE).
