Luciano The 'Messenger', Luciano, plans to leave the island early next week on a six-week tour of the United States.
The singer will be heading out with his 21-person entourage for New Day World Tour which kicks off in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, at the Chameleon Nightclub on Thursday, March 22. The following day the group is expected to stop in New York before heading cross-country.
Supporting acts will be Junior Kelly who had the big hit If Love So Nice last year and Luciano's long-time stablemate Mikey General.
The tour will take the group across 43 states with only three rest days.
"We will be going into many areas where we have never played before and that is very exciting for us. The idea is to touch as many souls as possible in virgin territories.
"Foremost in our minds at all times is the delivery of the message. There are some places on the itinerary where we are regulars and we are anxious to go out there and perform for these people. We welcome the opportunity to showcase our talents in other places as well," said Luciano.
Mikey General said he was anticipating a wonderful tour. "We have been out there before. We did the Sweep Over My Soul tour in 1999 which was also a major tour. It is an experience we all treasure and we are looking forward to this one," he added.
The tour will also take the group into Canada.
Backing band, The Firehouse Crew, has added a new bass player for the tour. He is Maurice 'Lloydie' Duncan of Ocho Rios.
The band is led by Dean Fraser and includes George Dusty, Bo Pee, Zaccheus, Congo Billy, Right Move, engineer Soljie Hamilton and backing vocalists Althea Hamilton, Conradine Campbell and Sherida Sharpe.
