A word

THE EDITOR, Sir:

ON WEDNESDAY, January 24 2001, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident which almost took my life, but thanks be to God there are still persons who are going beyond the call of duty for people they don't even know.

I would like to publicly thank the following persons:

The Owens family - I am eternally grateful to you. Due to my loss of consciousness, I would not have been able to put the pieces together without you. Thank you for being there for me. Inspector Murdock, whose prompt action at the scene got me to the hospital promptly.

Lorraine Jones and family, their care and compassion was so evident and I do say a big thank you. May God continue to bless you.

Corporal Atkinson who also came quickly on the scene and efficiently did his job.

The entire staff of the Kingston Public Hospital; Accident and Emergency Department, the staff of the 2 West Ward and my Operating Theatre family.

Thank you all for being there for me and may the Lord continually give his blessings.

I am, etc.,
