Bull Bay hunt Arnett's scalp

WESTERN BUREAU:

BULL BAY, the only non-National Premier League team remaining in the JNBS Federation Cup Knockout competition will try to sneak a place in the semis when they take on Arnett Gardens at the Tony Spaulding Sports Complex this afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Three more games are scheduled, Wadadah will host fellow strugglers Seba at the Herbert Morrison Technical Grounds in Montego Bay, Waterhouse will play Reno at Drewsland while NPL leaders Harbour View travel to Constant Spring.

Today's winners will advance to the semi-finals.

Under coach Barrington Gaynor, Bull Bay have been on a roll this season and are on the verge of being promoted to the National A League, locked 1-1 with Shortwood after the first leg of the Major League finals.

With Tivoli Gardens' scalp hanging from their waistband, Bull Bay will be hoping their former Premier League players, captain Andrew Williams and Michael Lewis, can get them past an Arnett team coming off a loss in the Premier League on Sunday.

At Herbert Morrison, pride will be at stake between the two long-time rivals. Both teams are struggling to stay in the Premier League but while Wadadah are in eighth place, just above the drop zone, Seba are dead last and look set to be lining up their place in the A League next season.

The Reno/Waterhouse game should be closely contested if the recent games between both teams are anything to go by. Reno lost 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a goalkeeper's error but the Westmoreland team will be confident it can turn the tables today.

Harbour View looked flat on Sunday but should be up for today's game against their Kingston rivals.
