'Digita' has become a household name and even her six-year-old son and his friends admire the Cable and Wireless icon.
"At my son's school, they even have a sign which reads 'Digita'. His friends just love me," she told The Gleaner.
"The character 'Digita' is the type of person I am. It is natural for me. What the company has created in me was there waiting to come out. Although I have never been a spokesman for a company before, it was not difficult finding my niche", she told The Gleaner.
But how was she chosen for such a campaign?
"It was an on the spur of the moment thing. I was at Boon Hall Oasis and I met Patrick Waldemar, who approached me and said 'Girl, you are it!'. He told me of Cable and Wireless' plan to promote its cellular line and was looking for someone to do so," she explained.
The person underneath the futuristic look of blue wig and silver body suit is Simone Henry. She is from a middle-class family. Her mother died two years ago, but her dad and family lives in Guyana.
"I went to Edith Dalton James High School. I was a Miguel Model for about a year. I also worked at Uppercut Barbers, where I developed an excellent working relationship with clients and staff alike," she said.
Last year she entered the Miss Jamaica Fashion Model pageant and was placed in the top six. It was during one of the photo shoots for the contest that she met Jamaica's acclaimed movie star, Grace Jones.
"She wants me to do her look-a-like in an upcoming movie," said Digita.
She believes in making a good first impression and has a weakness for designer clothes.
"I just love clothes, especially designs by Gucci, Guess and the Banana Republic line, to name a few. I am equally attracted to trendy shoes such as Purie Dumas and DKNY. I love nice things. I like to be presentable all the time," she told The Gleaner.
When the Cable and Wireless icon travels which is frequently she spends up to $160,000 a day on shopping, mainly on clothes. And she does not see this as being extravagant.
The model drives a Rav 4 and on the spare tyre at the back SUV is painted 'Digita Face'. Her licence plate also carries the icon.
This fun-loving young woman loves good food as well.
"I love chicken in all forms and banana ice cream! I am also a Guinness girl...I love that drink," she said smiling.
Is she romantically involved? The Gleaner asked:
"Oh my God, you are not going in uncharted territory, are you? I have so many admirers. I don't make them feel unwanted no matter who they are, or where they are from. I make them all happy," she said.
"I have a boyfriend, I am not going to tell who, though. We are partially serious and things could work out. However, right now, I am into enjoying and having a good time. As the saying goes, 'I am taking one step at a time'", she said.
'Digita' is at the Jamaica Carnival 2001 weekly blow-out fetes at Marketplace, Constant Spring Road, Kingston.
