Robertson courts big investments

MINISTER OF Foreign Affairs, Dr. Paul Robertson, is urging entrepreneurs to invest in Portmore. The Minister was speaking on Thursday at a press conference at Portmore Pines to launch the 7th annual Portmore Week of activities which kicks off on April 22.

Dr. Robertson noted that Portmore has the human resources with the largest educated population in the Caribbean, one of the best infrastructures and is in close proximity for those who want to engage in import and export trade.

Chief executive officer of MegaMart, one of the business conglomerates in Portmore, Gassan Azan, said that his entry into the community has been one of the best business decisions he has ever made. He said that the concept of operating a wholesale club has resulted in satisfied customers.

Mr. Azan encouraged prospective investors to see the real potential which exists in the community and take advantage of it, pointing out that the business community is going to be a key player in making Portmore realise its full potential.

The week of events, which is organised by the Portmore Joint Citizens Association, will focus on economic growth and development with a special focus on the tourism sector.
