Prepare for the FTAA - USAID

The Jamaican private sector is being warned to prepare for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), if it does not want to risk being left behind.

Europe for 2005 banking conference

Delegates to the 14th World Conference of Banking Institutes have unanimously selected Europe to host the 2005 conference, with Barcelona in Spain suggested as the preferred city although that has not been finalised.

NIBJ sells shares in InfoChannel
The National Investment Bank of Jamaica (NIBJ), which had taken equity by way of ordinary and preference shares in the local Internet company, InfoChannel Limited, has sold its shares to Patrick Terrelonge, the company's principal shareholder.
