MANCHESTER High School secured their spot in round two of the TVJ Schools Challenge Quiz 2001 when they defeated Rusea's High School 31-26 last Thursday.

Rusea's High took the lead in the first segment ending with 10 points, one ahead of Manchester.

The winning team made up of Lionel Fleshmen; Raul Finderson; Karen Griffiths; and team captain Colin Virgo, seemed a bit nervous in the first two minutes of the second segment.

They missed several questions that they seemed able to answer.

The second segment ended 25-20 with Manchester five points ahead of Rusea's High School.

When the third segment began, Manchester played a cautious game and only answered the questions they were sure of. Rusea's High comprising of mostly fourth formers, on the other hand, were a bit careless at times.

Rusea's team was made up of Orane Hibbert; Kenesh Murray; Janice Mason; and Lloyd Grant the team captain.

After the match Manchester High's Colin admitted they were not at their best and needed to work harder.

"We were missing a lot of simple questions. We are coming from the Tourism Quiz," he said. The school came in third in that competition.
