What a 'Te Lay Lay' at Soca, Calypso Tent

Today we feature Peter Lewis and his Carnival 2001 Trinidad Road March hit song.

The soca front liner will appear on the line-up for Soca Calypso Tent on Thursday April, 19 at Cinema II, New Kingston.

Peter Lewis has been lead vocalist with Xtatik band since September 1998, he became the natural choice to succeed Machel, when he left to pursue a solo career in 2000.

The dynamic artiste has been singing since age five. During his primary and secondary school years he participated in the National Music festival in Trinidad and was quite successful, claiming several category prizes.

Peter Lewis is a high achiever and brilliant composer with a number of hits to call his own. From 1995-1998 he sang with soca band Atlantik where he wrote Oh Susanna which climbed the music charts with its early Carnival release. He also co-wrote the hits Band meet Band and We Sound from Xtatik's 1999 compact disc release Any Minute Now. From the Mad Bull album volume II he co-wrote Left foot, Right foot.

Peter Lewis not only shows great vocal talent but has produced and direct music videos including Music Farm by Xtatik, All Abroad by Atlantik, Jump and Dunk by Iwer George.

Peter manages Bread Boy Entertainment and is one of the producers of D Show which is a joint project of TV6 and Bread Boy Entertainment.

As lead vocalist in Xtatik, Peter has gained tremendous popularity with his vibrant performance throughout the Caribbean, North America and Europe. He was nominated for a COTT award in the category "New composer for the Year" 1998.

With his hit tune for 2001 Tay Lay Lay, Peter placed second in the Road March competition and third was in the Carnival International Soca Monarch Finals.
