Disgusted with Amnesty International, Mr Seaga

THE EDITOR, Sir:

MR. SEAGA'S recent support for Amnesty International decision to smear Jamaica's name in the international arena is disingenuous and a flagrant disregard for the Jamaican people. I do not have any scientific data, but based on the comments of the man in the street, there is overwhelming support for the police with respect to their handling of vicious criminals in the society.

While we cannot do much but to use forum like yours to decry the one-sided and biased report of Amnesty International, we can show our disgust at Mr. Seaga by not supporting him or his party in the next elections. It is time we take a stand for the good of the country and our children.

If Mr. Seaga continues with his usual "lock down the country tighter than sardine attitude" we need to keep him as far away from Jamaica House as possible.

I am etc.,

WAYNE CUNNINGHAM
