Crowning beauty

Millicent Lynch makes a pretty picture in this face framing number, Judith Forth-Blake's striking animal print hat and Dr. Verna Brooks-McKenzie's New York design.

ON SATURDAY April 28, the magnificent form of the fillies on the track was eclipsed by the bevy of beautiful women who were special guests of Caymanas Track Limited.

The occasion was the Courts Jamaica Limited-sponsored Jamaica Oaks Day held in honour of women who have made significant contributions in various fields. This year, in keeping with the United Nations' declaration of 2001 as the International Year of the Volunteer, women who have given years of service to charity, were honoured.

One of the highlights of the annual day at the tracks is a hat parade and this year was no exception. Dr. Verna Brooks-McKenzie selected a black wide-brimmed hat which was trimmed right before her eyes in a New York boutique.

Ruby Martin's hat came from New Orleans and Judith Forth-Blake from Courts Jamaica Limited stuck to the animal print theme.
