Man shot dead on bus

GUNMEN SHOT and killed a 41-year-old man and injured a 25-year-old woman aboard a public passenger bus at the intersection of Constant Spring Road and Constant Spring Grove in north St. Andrew on Tuesday night.

The dead man has been identified as Glenville Hamilton, of an Airy Castle Road address in St. Andrew and a contractor employed to the National Water Commission.

According to police reports, about 9:20 p.m., Hamilton and three other persons boarded the Glen-goffe to downtown Kingston minibus at Constant Spring Square. Upon reaching the intersection of Constant Spring Road and Constant Spring Grove, one of two gunmen in the vehicle opened fire hitting Hamilton all over his body. He died on the spot.

A female passenger was caught in the crossfire and received injuries to her left foot. She was taken to hospital for treatment. The men escaped on foot in the area. The Constant Spring Police have not yet established a motive for the shooting.
