Classy Waulgrovians destroy Tivoli

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Waulgrovians defeated Tivoli A 64-37 in one of six preliminary round matches of the Berger Paints Senior Netball League competition on Saturday.

They have a perfect record and sit comfortably atop the Zone A standings with 27 points with only two rounds of games remaining before the quarter-finals.

In other games on Saturday, Blades A overcame a stern challenge from Port Esquivel to win 37-32 and improve their place in Zone B while Jetsetters A got by Police A 37-34.

The Zone A standings see Jamalco in second place with 21 points, followed by Tivoli on 19, then Jetsetters on 11, Police on six and Seneca A at the bottom with three points.

In Zone B, Blades took over the top spot from Port Esquivel and have 21 points while the latter have 19.

The league continues tomorrow with three games. Tivoli A will seek to rebound against Jetsetters A, Port Esquivel take on Hampshire A while Blades A and Omega A square off.

Three matches are also scheduled for Thursday before the quarter-final round starts on May 19.
