Kirschhoch case needs more attention

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM the writer from New York who was with travel editor Claudia Kirschhoch at Beaches Negril shortly before she went missing on or about May 27, 2000. It is now almost a year since her tragic disappearance and I find it very sad that it appears no one seems to care any longer about what may have happened to her.

I have visited Jamaica many times and count myself fortunate to have experienced firsthand the genuine warmth and family consciousness of the people who live there. It is hard to believe that local citizens would just sit back and let a young vibrant woman, a guest on their island, fall off the face of the earth without needing or wanting to find out what happened.

Isn't there anyone who can put some pressure on the appropriate people to see that the mystery of Claudia's disappearance is finally solved so that the parents can know what happened to their beloved daughter and justice is finally served?

I thank you for your kind attention.

I am etc.,
