Everton Chambers returns
Singer Everton Chambers is sending out a message that he is here to stay this time.
"I've the right material to work with this time," he told us Friday. The 15-year veteran of the local recording industry has two singles out, Make Haste and Jah Is The Light (African Star), which are both doing exceptionally well.
Chambers had been recording mainly with Edgar Parish's Parish label, prior to recording for Stewart Brown's African Star. Brown had been managing Capleton's affairs for several years.
His biggest hit was Peace (Parish) which was a big seller in Canada in 1993. His biggest local hit was Hol' Your Corner in 1988, after which he toured Canada and Europe extensively and stayed away for several years.
He says he is working on a new album with Parish, which should be out by early July. The music for the album was arranged by Sly and Robbie. His business is now being handled by Ranny Rowe.
