Haggart's funeral and Ministers

THE EDITOR, Sir:

DAWN RITCH is correct! In Dawn's article on "turning a blind eye to reality",(May 27, 2001) she hits the nail on the head when she said that the funeral of William Moore had the appearance of a state funeral. It's despicable and offensive when our Ministers of government think that it's 'cool' to attend funerals of known criminals also called dons.

I am frightened to the fact that the senior members of the PNP that attended the funeral of 'Haggart' want us all to believe that this man was an angel.

While the news was breaking of the attendance to the funeral by Cabinet Ministers my thoughts wondered to the reaction of people like President Bush and our own Colin Powell. What do they think of Jamaica?

The bottomline here is that we need more people like Dawn Ritch to continue to stand up and denounce lawless politicians. Thank you.

I am etc.,
