'Misleading' headline

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE HEADLINE 'FINSAC documents disappear' in the Sunday Gleaner of May 20, is at best misleading.

It creates the distinct impression that loan documents in the custody of FINSAC have disappeared. This is absolutely not true and FINSAC categorically denies that loan documentation in its custody has gone missing.

Admittedly the body of the article is inconsistent with the headline in that it speaks to the disappearance of documents from the originating institutions.

Notwithstanding that fact the headline does some damage to the image of FINSAC, as evidenced by the response in some sections of the media and the numerous telephone calls I have received.

I am, etc.,
