All Ja team on target

CASTRIES, St Lucia, CANA:

THE All Jamaican Business League netball team, led by Suzette Desouzay's accurate shooting, won their first match of a five-day tour of St Lucia 45-40 against a President's team at the Vigie Sports Complex on Monday night.

Trailing their hosts 8-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Jamaican netballers ended the second quarter at 20-20 and the third 33-33, before opening up for their five-goal win.

Goal shoot Desouzay netted 34 of 41 attempts.

Camille Graham, used at goal shoot and goal attack, scored eight of 15 attempts and captain Samantha Robinson scored three from five attempts.

For the President's team, Barbara Joseph Theobalds and Germaine Altifois, just back from Nevis representing local champion club Shamrock at the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) champion club tournament scored 24 from 30 and 16 from 20 attempts respectively.

The Jamaicans continued their tour itinerary with a match against the St Lucia Under-23 team at the Vigie Complex last night.
