IT SEEMS heaven must have sent Glen Washington to Mas Camp last Saturday night.
Like a messenger, the man who has been rocking with such hits as Heaven Must Have Sent You gave the crowd something to remember.
Glen did what Capleton 'The Fire Man' failed to do - that was to the heat up the place.
The singer, along with others such as Admiral Tibet, Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy, Gregory Isaacs gave an outstanding performance.
He had his hands filled when he went backstage. A group of young men encircled him and wouldn't give him enough time to deal with the press. "A mi fren dat (Glen) is a good man. Him help me and a lot of ghetto youths," said one fan.
Admiral Tibet was the surprise for the night. Tibet, who has not performed in Kingston for some time, captured the people and could do nothing wrong from his first song.
George Nooks, the promoter of the show, proved why he is able to have a song on the Weekwend Star chart for 15 weeks. The song God Is Standing By sent the crowd in a frenzy. Luciano, as usual, worked the stage well with some energetic moves.
The big surprise for the night was Capleton. He just failed to 'burn' with his usual fire.
Other artistes who helped to make the night memorable included deejay Trinity, Louie Culture, Freddy McGregor and Coco Tea.
